Chapter 8 - The Secret Ledger

"And tonight," Adrien continued ruthlessly, his eyes flashing with a dark, dangerous fire, "Sophie accidentally walked into the back office to retrieve a wine key. She saw the digital financial ledgers open on your private computer."
Sophie’s jaw dropped. She remembered walking into the office earlier that evening. Brenda had slammed her laptop shut in an absolute panic, screaming at Sophie to get out.
"She didn't even understand what she was looking at," Adrien explained smoothly, staring at the weeping manager. "But you panicked. You knew she saw the illegal account numbers. You decided to fire her and humiliate her in public to completely destroy her professional credibility before she could mention the numbers to anyone else on the staff."
The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing betrayal completely paralyzed the wealthy diners.
Brenda dropped to her knees on the polished hardwood floor. The heavy gold buttons on her black suit scraped against the wood. She completely humiliated herself in front of the entire restaurant, abandoning every ounce of her pride.
"Please, Mr. Voss!" Brenda sobbed hysterically, crawling desperately toward the billionaire's expensive shoes. "I was going to put the money back! I swear! I have a mortgage! I have a family! Have mercy on me!"
Adrien looked down at her. He didn't feel a single, solitary ounce of pity.

"You stole three hundred thousand dollars from my company," Adrien whispered softly, leaning down slightly so his voice carried a terrifying, untouchable, and lethal power. "And then you actively attempted to ruin an innocent, hardworking woman's life to cover your tracks. There is no mercy for parasites."
👉 Adrien slowly raised his hand in the air, signaling the absolute, devastating end of the manager's luxurious life.
