Chapter 3 - The Untouchable Boss

Coleman let out a harsh, cruel laugh. He adjusted his expensive silk tie, looking down at Daniel as if he were a cockroach.

“The kind of people who have nothing to offer the world,” Coleman sneered. “The kind of people who leech off society. This hotel is owned by the Sterling Group. We cater to billionaires, CEOs, and politicians. We don't cater to beggars.”

Emily, the young employee in the navy uniform, took a hesitant step forward. Her heart was racing. She needed this job to pay her college tuition, but watching Coleman verbally abuse a helpless man was making her sick.

“Mr. Coleman, sir,” Emily interrupted softly, her voice trembling slightly. “He… he really isn't bothering anyone. Maybe we could just let him wait by the back exit?”

Coleman whipped his head around, glaring at the young girl with absolute fury.

“Did I ask for your opinion, Emily?” Coleman barked. “You are a receptionist. Your job is to smile and hand out room keys, not to turn my lobby into a homeless shelter. If you feel so strongly about him, you can pack up your locker and join him on the street right now. Because you are fired.”

Emily gasped, tears instantly welling in her eyes as her entire livelihood was ripped away in a split second.
