Chapter 10 - The Family Rebuilt

Arthur didn't say anything else. He just reached out and gently tucked a loose strand of blonde hair behind Sarah's ear. The subtle, tender gesture spoke volumes.

Over the next few years, Sarah graduated from nursing school with top honors, fully funded by Arthur. But she never left the estate. The bond she shared with the little boy had grown into an unbreakable maternal love, and the profound, quiet respect she shared with Arthur had blossomed into a deep, passionate romance.

They didn't rush. They took their time, healing together.

Three years later, Arthur and Sarah stood together in the massive gardens of the estate. Sarah wore a stunning, simple white wedding dress. The little boy, now a bright, talkative six-year-old, stood proudly between them as the ring bearer.

When it was time for the vows, Arthur didn't just give Sarah a wedding ring. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful, brand-new gold chain, fastening it securely around her neck.

It was the golden locket. But this time, he had placed a tiny family portrait inside—a picture of Arthur, Sarah, and the little boy, smiling together.

Sarah wiped a tear of pure joy from her cheek. She had walked into a restaurant expecting to serve tables, but she walked out having saved a family, and finding the greatest love of her life. The darkness of the past was finally gone, replaced entirely by the beautiful, tinkling melody of a promise kept.

Do you think Arthur was right to completely destroy the manager's career, or was he being too vindictive?
