Chapter 1 - The Prosthetic Leg

The bright, spacious first-class cabin of the transatlantic flight was a cinematic display of completely untouchable high-society wealth. Warm, glowing sunlight poured through the large oval windows, illuminating the plush leather seats and the elite, heavily tailored corporate executives settling in for the long flight to London.
But the sophisticated, quiet atmosphere was violently shattered by a sickening display of public humiliation.
Margaret, a fifty-something woman with her blonde hair pulled into a neat updo, stood awkwardly in the center aisle. She wore a simple, lovely pink floral dress and clean white sneakers. But sticking out from beneath the hem of her dress was a highly advanced, heavy metallic prosthetic leg.
Standing right beside her was her seven-year-old daughter, Poppy. The sweet little girl had matching blonde hair tied with a pink bow, wore an identical pink floral dress, and tightly hugged a small white stuffed bunny against her chest.
Margaret was struggling to lift her heavy, dark green canvas carry-on bag into the overhead bin, her prosthetic leg making it incredibly difficult to balance.
Sitting directly next to them in a window seat was an arrogant, thirty-something corporate businessman in a sharp gray suit. He didn't offer to help. He actively rolled his eyes, aggressively huffing in annoyance.

"Excuse me," the businessman sneered loudly, ensuring the entire dead-silent first-class cabin could hear his toxic cruelty. "Can you move your metal leg out of my space? You're scratching my leather briefcase."
👉 Margaret physically flinched, completely unprepared for the absolute cruelty that was about to unfold.
