Chapter 4 - The VIP Table

"Excuse me," the waitress stammered nervously, taking a step back from the towering enforcer in the dark suit. "I was just clearing out some trash. Sir, is there a problem?"
"The boss wants them," the bodyguard stated coldly, his eyes radiating pure, unadulterated intimidation.
Before the waitress could even process the command, the bodyguard walked past her, opened the glass door, and gently guided the soaking wet mother and daughter back inside. He completely bypassed the host stand, escorting them directly to the most exclusive, heavily guarded VIP booth in the restaurant.
The entire restaurant watched in absolute, breath-stealing shock.
A medium shot captured a massive time jump. Ten minutes later, the mother and little girl were sitting comfortably at Ricci’s private table. They were wrapped in warm, dry towels provided by the kitchen, and they were hungrily eating warm, fresh Italian bread and massive bowls of steaming pasta.
Ricci sat across from them, completely ignoring his own expensive meal. He watched the little girl eat with a soft, almost imperceptible smile. The terrifying mafia boss had completely vanished, replaced by a strangely gentle protector.
He leaned forward, pouring a glass of water for the mother.
