Chapter 8 - The Waitress's Mistake

The waitress smirked, entirely oblivious to the lethal danger she was standing in front of. She tapped her pen against the leather checkbook.
"I see your little charity cases left early," the waitress sneered arrogantly. "That will be eight hundred dollars for the food they ate, sir. Plus a mandatory gratuity for my absolute inconvenience."
Ricci stopped walking. He looked at the waitress with pure, unadulterated disgust.
He didn't pull out his wallet.
Suddenly, the heavy front doors of the restaurant were violently pushed open. The restaurant owner, a wealthy, terrified man sweating profusely in his expensive suit, sprinted into the dining room. He had just been alerted by security that Ricci was in the building.
"Mr. Ricci!" the owner panicked, bowing frantically. "I didn't know you were here! Your meal is completely on the house! Please, is everything to your satisfaction?!"
The waitress stopped breathing. The blood completely drained from her perfectly contoured face. Her smirk violently collapsed into absolute, paralyzing shock. She realized she had just insulted and demanded money from the undisputed king of the city.
