Chapter 10 - The True Partnership

"No! Roman, please!" Vivian wailed pathetically, her arrogant, untouchable facade completely shattering into dust.

She lunged desperately toward the desk, trying to grab the flash drive to destroy the evidence, but Roman’s two massive office security guards immediately intercepted her. They grabbed her arms, violently hauling the screaming, panicking woman away from the mahogany desk.

"I'm your mother!" Vivian sobbed hysterically as they dragged her toward the heavy double doors.

"You were never my mother," Roman replied coldly, turning his back on her entirely.

The guards dragged the weeping, pathetic corporate tyrant out of the office. Her desperate cries faded down the hallway, ending her reign of psychological cruelty, greed, and blackmail forever. She was going to federal prison.

The grand luxury office fell into a profound, heavy, and incredibly peaceful silence.

Roman slowly turned around. He looked at Cecilia, completely mesmerized by the brilliant, fearless woman standing in his office. She hadn't just saved his empire; she had proven that they were an absolutely unstoppable team.

He bypassed his massive desk and walked directly over to her. He didn't ask for a contract this time.

He gently knelt down on the expensive rug, resting his hands softly on her pregnant belly, looking up at her with profound, unshakeable respect and genuine, burning love.

"Fifty-one percent isn't enough," Roman whispered fiercely, tears of absolute gratitude touching his eyes. "You own all of it. Everything I have is yours."

Cecilia smiled brightly, running her fingers through his dark hair, knowing that true power isn't found in trapping someone with debt—it is found in trusting them enough to fight the monsters together.

Do you think getting arrested for espionage was enough justice for Vivian, or did the cruel stepmother deserve a harsher punishment for trying to ruin their lives?
