Chapter 8 - The Unexpected Move

Roman stared at the flash drive on his desk. His entire life’s work, his billions of dollars, and his corporate legacy were completely on the line.
He didn't hesitate for a fraction of a second.
Roman reached for his heavy gold pen, fully prepared to sign away his entire empire to protect Cecilia and their unborn child from the fallout. He was willing to burn his own world down to save hers.
But before Roman could uncap the pen, Cecilia violently grabbed his wrist, stopping him dead in his tracks.
"Don't sign it," Cecilia ordered firmly.
Vivian laughed, a harsh, condescending sound. "Don't be stupid, little girl. If he doesn't sign it, you are going to be raising that baby while visiting him through a glass window in federal prison."
Cecilia didn't look at Vivian. She looked entirely at Roman. The vulnerable, crying pregnant woman was completely gone. She was the fierce, untouchable wife of an apex predator.
"Roman," Cecilia whispered, her eyes burning with brilliant, unstoppable strategy. "Who holds the master encryption keys to the offshore shell company you used to buy the debt?"
Roman frowned, confused by her sudden question. "I do."
