Chapter 10 - The True King Returns

The next morning, the blizzard finally broke, leaving the suburban estate covered in a pristine, glittering blanket of fresh white snow.
Mark and Vanessa were nowhere to be seen. They had walked three miles in the freezing cold to a cheap gas station, their entire lives completely ruined, their reputations shattered, and their luxury permanently erased.
Inside the bright, warm mansion, Arthur sat by the crackling fireplace. He had his phone pressed to his ear, listening to the soft, tired, but incredibly relieved voice of his daughter, Sarah, from her hospital bed.
"He's gone, Sarah," Arthur promised smoothly. "The locks are changed. The accounts are frozen. The divorce papers are already being drafted by my legal team. When you come home, this house will be yours, and yours alone."
"Thank you, Dad," Sarah whispered, tears of profound gratitude in her voice. "Thank you for saving her."
Arthur looked across the room. Little Lily was sitting on the white couch, wearing fresh, warm pajamas, happily playing with her toys, completely unbothered by the events of the previous night.

Arthur smiled, a fierce, protective pride swelling in his chest. He had bought the house to give his daughter a safe haven, and he had proven that he would burn the world to the ground to keep it that way.
If you were Arthur, would you have handed the cheating husband over to the police for child endangerment, or was throwing him into the freezing blizzard the perfect justice?
