Chapter 8 - The Immediate Eviction

Arthur didn't call the police. He didn't need to. He walked over to the front door, pulling his phone from his pocket. He tapped a single number.

Within thirty seconds, a massive black SUV pulled up to the driveway, cutting through the howling blizzard. Four towering, heavily built private security contractors stepped out of the vehicle and marched directly into the house.

"Clear the property," Arthur ordered the men, gesturing toward the white couch. "They have exactly five minutes to grab their coats. Leave everything else inside. If they resist, throw them into the snowbank."

"Arthur, you can't do this at midnight! It's freezing!" Mark wailed, his voice cracking as two of the massive guards violently grabbed him by the arms, hauling him off the couch.

"You thought two hours in the snow builds character, Mark," Arthur said coldly, watching them drag the struggling man toward the door. "Let's see how much character you have by morning."

Vanessa shrieked, kicking wildly in her tight black dress as the guards grabbed her luggage and forced her toward the exit. "Don't touch me! My shoes are expensive!"

The guards ignored her entirely. They shoved Mark and Vanessa out through the heavy white front doors, tossing Vanessa's designer bags directly into a muddy snowbank.
