Chapter 6 - The True Owner

Arthur looked Mark dead in the eyes, ignoring the blood dripping onto his knuckles. The cinematic tension was absolutely suffocating.
"You always were an arrogant fool, Mark," Arthur said smoothly, the absolute power of his wealth backing every single syllable. "You signed a lease. You didn't sign a deed."
Mark froze, the blood draining completely from his face. "What?"
"I bought this house for my daughter," Arthur stated with cold, absolute authority. "It was never yours to use against her."
Vanessa, cowering on the white couch, let out a nervous gasp. "Mark... what is he talking about? You told me you owned this estate!"
Arthur completely ignored the mistress. He leaned in closer to Mark, ensuring the pathetic, bleeding man heard every single word of his impending doom.
"Three years ago, when you claimed your business was failing, Sarah begged me to help you," Arthur explained, his voice a lethal, vibrating growl. "I bought this property through a blind trust. I let you pretend you bought it so your fragile ego wouldn't break. I let you play the wealthy provider. But my name is the only name on the deed, Mark. You are nothing but a temporary tenant."
