Chapter 2 - The Undercover Billionaire
The doors of the massive black SUVs opened simultaneously in complete, chilling unison.
Four towering, incredibly intimidating bodyguards stepped out onto the wet street. They wore sharp, expensive black suits and dark ties, completely unfazed by the pouring rain. They didn't look at the diner. Their cold, lethal eyes locked directly onto the ragged homeless man sitting on the pavement.
Maya froze, the plastic spoon pausing mid-air.
Her own life was completely falling apart, but her fierce, protective instinct instantly kicked in. She dropped the bowl and bravely stepped in front of the old man, shielding him with her own small body.
"Leave him alone!" Maya shouted defensively, her voice trembling but defiant. "He isn't hurting anyone!"
The ragged homeless man stopped eating.
He slowly lowered his trembling hands. A cinematic close-up captured Daniel’s face. The weak, pathetic demeanor completely, violently vanished. His realistic micro-expressions shifted into something terrifyingly authoritative, powerful, and intensely observant.
The lead bodyguard marched directly up to them. He entirely ignored Maya.
The massive, dangerous man stopped in the puddle, clicked his heels together, and bowed his head deeply to the dirty man on the ground.
