Chapter 1 - The Pitcher of Ice Water

The upscale, brightly lit living room of the luxury penthouse was a breathtaking display of wealth. Massive floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the space with bright daylight, reflecting off the patterned rug, the elegant white armchair, and a pristine white baby bassinet. But inside this stunning sanctuary, an act of sheer, sadistic cruelty was unfolding.

The young wife, in her twenties with long wavy brown hair and a green floral dress paired with a green cardigan, stood trembling. She was completely exhausted, her body weak from a difficult childbirth just three days ago, and she was holding her newborn baby tightly in a pink outfit.

Standing directly in front of her, aggressively pointing a finger, was Linda, her sixty-year-old mother-in-law. Linda wore a green cardigan and a beige skirt, her white hair styled in an updo, and she was holding a heavy glass pitcher filled with freezing ice water.

Standing in the background, leaning against the wall, was Ryan, the thirty-something husband. He wore a crisp white button-down shirt and dark trousers, laughing cruelly at his completely depleted wife.

"Prepare dinner," Linda commanded viciously, stepping closer.

A medium shot captured the wife shivering. She didn't scream. She gently laid her newborn baby down into the white bassinet. The intense hurt in her eyes instantly shifted into a chilling, dead calm.

👉 Ryan smirked confidently, entirely unbothered by his wife's distress, unaware of the massive mistake he had just made.
