Chapter 4 - The True Owner
"I'm calling to report a severe violation of the building's lease terms in unit four-zero-two," the wife stated, her voice calm, powerful, and dripping with absolute authority.
"Of course, Mrs. Vance," the property manager replied respectfully over the speakerphone. "What seems to be the problem?"
"I have two unauthorized squatters in my home," the wife announced coldly, glaring right at the paralyzed mother-in-law. "They are harassing a postpartum tenant, verbally abusing a newborn infant, and refusing to vacate the premises when ordered."
Ryan lunged forward, desperately trying to snatch the phone out of her hand. "Stop it! What are you playing at?!" he shrieked, his voice cracking with panic.
The wife easily stepped aside, dodging his frantic grab.
"Ma'am, shall I dispatch building security and local law enforcement to remove them immediately?" the property manager asked calmly.
"Please do," the wife replied smoothly. "And cancel their building keycards. They are officially trespassed."
