Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Justice

"You're lying!" Natalie shrieked wildly, completely abandoning her elegant, innocent persona as pure, unadulterated panic took over. "I didn't do anything! It's a fake video!"
"You are under arrest for felony child abuse, conspiracy to commit murder, and massive wire fraud," the police officer announced loudly, aggressively grabbing Natalie’s arms and twisting them painfully behind her back.
"No! Jason, please!" Natalie wailed hysterically, thrashing wildly as the heavy steel handcuffs were violently snapped around her wrists. "I love you! Mark made me do it! He manipulated me!"
"Enjoy federal prison, Natalie," Jason whispered coldly, utterly devoid of human mercy. "You will never see my daughter again."
The neighbors watched in absolute, stunned silence as the cruel, toxic mother was forcefully dragged out of her own house in a silk robe, crying and screaming in total, undeniable disgrace. Thirty minutes later, police raided Mark's luxury condo downtown, arresting the corrupt financial advisor before he could even attempt to flee the state.
Six months later, the dark, peeling wallpaper in the hallway was completely gone.
Jason had fully renovated the house, painting it in bright, warm colors. The suffocating tension was permanently banished. Natalie and Mark were sentenced to twenty years in federal prison without the possibility of parole.
Sophie completely transformed. The terrified, bruised little girl was gone. She ran down the brightly lit hallway wearing beautiful new clothes, laughing a genuine, beautiful laugh as she chased their new golden retriever puppy into the living room.
Jason stood in the kitchen, drinking his coffee, completely secure in his power. He had quit his traveling job, started his own consulting firm from home, and completely dedicated his life to his daughter. They had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.
