Chapter 1 - The Heavy Ink Stamp

The luxurious American estate bedroom was usually a sanctuary of peace, filled with the soft scent of fresh white roses and bathed in warm, golden afternoon light. Rich gold accents lined the crown molding, and a massive American flag was proudly displayed in the background, a testament to the family’s patriotic legacy. But today, the heavy, suffocating silence in the room was masking a ruthless, calculated crime.
Lying completely motionless on the massive bed, resting against a large tufted headboard, was Florence. The seventy-year-old woman, wearing elegant pink silk pajamas, was deeply unconscious.
Standing over her was Brenda.
The thirty-something attractive woman wore a flawless, elegant white dress with a sweetheart neckline, her long, wavy red hair cascading over her shoulders. She looked like the perfect, loving daughter. But her beautiful face was twisted into a mask of cold, greedy satisfaction.
Brenda violently grabbed her unconscious mother’s limp hand. She dragged Florence’s arm toward the glass bedside table, where a thick, fraudulent legal power-of-attorney document was waiting.
"Sign it all to me," Brenda whispered, her voice dripping with venomous, unchecked greed.
She forced her mother’s fragile fingers around a heavy, custom legal ink stamp.
Suddenly, the heavy mahogany bedroom door swung open. Frank, a seventy-year-old man with distinguished gray hair, a neat beard, and a dark suit with a crisp white shirt, stepped into the doorway.
He froze, his eyes widening as he took in the horrific scene.
