Chapter 7 - The Real Fortune

"You just legally transferred three million dollars of estate debt into your own name, Brenda," Frank explained, a dark, satisfied edge creeping into his tone. "Congratulations. The IRS will be thrilled to meet the new liable owner."

Brenda gasped, clutching her chest. "Where is the real money, Dad? Where are the billions?"

Frank held up the old blue passbook. "Right here. The generational wealth. The liquid assets. The true power of this family has been locked in this bearer trust since before you were born. And your mother and I were planning to sign it over to you on your fortieth birthday next month."

Brenda’s entire world violently collapsed. If she had just waited four weeks. If she hadn't been so blinded by greed, she would have been handed the keys to an absolute empire. Instead, she had poisoned her mother and forged a document that would bankrupt her.

"Give that to me right now," Brenda demanded, breathless and panicked, her voice cracking into a high-pitched, desperate shriek.

She dropped the useless stamped document onto the marble floor. She took a frantic step toward her father, extending her trembling hands, her greed completely overriding her logic. She thought she could just snatch the blue passbook and run.

Frank didn't back away. He stood his ground, gripping the blue passbook so tightly his knuckles turned white. He glared at his greedy daughter with absolute, unfiltered disgust.

"You will never touch her real money," Frank said, his voice deadly quiet, echoing with finality.

👉 Brenda lunged violently for the passbook, but the biggest shock of the afternoon was waiting for her on the bed.
