Chapter 10 - The Walk of Shame

The heavy mahogany doors of the bedroom were suddenly flanked by four armed police officers. They marched into the room, their expressions hard and professional.

They didn't care about Brenda's elegant white dress or her sweetheart neckline. They grabbed her aggressively by the arms, hauling her violently off the floor. The cold steel of the handcuffs clicked sharply around her wrists, the sound finalizing her complete and utter destruction.

"Dad! Mom! Tell them to stop!" Brenda wailed, thrashing desperately as the officers dragged her toward the hallway.

Frank and Florence stood silently by the bed, their faces completely devoid of mercy. They watched the officers drag their screaming, disgraced daughter out of the luxurious estate, her humiliated cries echoing down the marble halls until she was shoved into the back of a police cruiser in the driveway.

Frank let out a long, heavy sigh, slipping the old blue savings passbook back into his dark suit jacket. He sat down on the edge of the bed, gently wrapping his arms around Florence.
