Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Disinheritance

"Mom, please, I didn't mean it!" Brenda sobbed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the expensive rug, completely ruining her elegant white dress. "I was just stressed! I was confused! I love you!"
"You love my money," Florence corrected coldly, refusing to let a single tear fall for the traitor kneeling on her floor. "You were willing to let me overdose on sedatives just so you could buy another yacht. You are no daughter of mine."
Frank walked over to the bed, gently placing his hand on his wife's shoulder, presenting a united, unbreakable front.
"I already called the police, Brenda," Frank stated, looking down at the weeping woman. "They've been listening through the open line on my phone in my pocket. They heard the assault. They heard the forgery. They heard the attempted poisoning."
Sirens began to wail in the distance, the sharp sound cutting through the quiet, wealthy neighborhood, growing louder by the second.
Brenda looked wildly toward the door, realizing her entire life was completely over. She had no primary estate. She had no secret offshore trust. She had nothing but a pair of handcuffs waiting for her.
"You can't do this!" Brenda shrieked, crawling toward them. "I'm your blood!"

"Blood doesn't give you the right to hold a knife to our throats," Florence whispered, her voice echoing with cinematic finality. "The blue passbook is being donated entirely to charity tomorrow morning. You are officially written out of existence."
👉 The sirens reached the front driveway, leaving Brenda to face the brutal, humiliating consequences of her unchecked greed.
