Chapter 3 - The Billionaire's Secret

Adrian swallowed hard. For a fraction of a second, genuine, paralyzing panic flashed across his handsome face.

"Dad, let it go," Adrian warned, his voice dropping into a desperate whisper. "Just take Mom to the guest house and clean her up. We can talk about this tomorrow."

"We are going to talk about it right now," Thomas replied smoothly.

Thomas didn't come from "old money." He was a self-made billionaire who had built a massive logistics empire from scratch. But he and Evelyn despised the flashy, arrogant lifestyle of the ultra-rich. They intentionally lived a quiet, modest life.

Adrian, however, was obsessed with status. When he met Celeste—the spoiled daughter of a minor local politician—Adrian had lied to her. He told Celeste that he was a brilliant, self-made tech entrepreneur, and that his parents were just "poor, working-class burdens" he had to financially support.

Celeste thought she was marrying a standalone millionaire. She had absolutely no idea that Adrian's entire life—his penthouse, his luxury cars, and his corporate job title—were entirely funded by Thomas’s holding company.

"Celeste," Thomas said calmly, helping his weeping wife stand tall. "Did Adrian tell you that your father paid for this estate today?"

"My father wrote a check for a hundred thousand dollars," Celeste scoffed arrogantly. "Adrian and I are self-sufficient. We don't need your pathetic charity."

Thomas smiled—a cold, merciless, cinematic smile.
