Chapter 5 - The Eviction Notice

Thomas didn't raise his voice. He gently guided Evelyn to a nearby white wooden chair, helping her sit down safely.
Then, he turned back to the furious groom and the panicking bride.
"I have spent the last five years trying to teach you humility, Adrian," Thomas said quietly, stepping onto the pristine white altar. "I gave you a corner office. I bought you a penthouse. I thought if I gave you security, you would eventually grow into a respectful man."
"I am a respectful man!" Adrian screamed, pointing an aggressive finger at his father. "I am the Vice President of the company!"
"Not anymore," Thomas replied smoothly, instantly annihilating his son's career.
Adrian froze. The air in his lungs violently turned to absolute ice.
"As of this exact moment," Thomas announced, projecting his voice so every single elite guest heard him clearly, "you are officially terminated from Vance Logistics. Your corporate credit cards have been deactivated. And the penthouse you live in? The lease is under my holding company."
Celeste gasped, clutching her chest. "The penthouse?!"
"You have until midnight to pack your bags and vacate the property," Thomas stated flawlessly, completely devoid of human empathy. "Because I am selling it tomorrow."
Adrian stumbled backward, his dark suit suddenly looking cheap and pathetic. He was completely, irreversibly ruined.
