Chapter 4 - The Wine Spill

The heavy, suffocating silence in the restaurant was absolutely deafening.
Dominic glared at Hannah, his lethal patience completely evaporating. "Get lost, waitress," the boss commanded coldly. "This is private family business."
Hannah knew that if she walked away, Caleb would be dragged out of the restaurant and locked in a dark, abusive facility for the rest of his life. She couldn't call the police; Dominic owned half the precinct. She had to completely destroy the legal documents sitting on the table to buy Caleb time.
Hannah turned around and grabbed a heavy silver tray carrying three massive crystal glasses of expensive, dark red wine from a nearby serving station.
She walked back toward the VIP table.
With flawless, cinematic precision, Hannah intentionally clipped the heel of her shoe against the edge of the table leg. She let out a sharp gasp, violently throwing her weight forward.
The heavy silver tray flipped.
All three crystal glasses shattered aggressively across the table. Gallons of dark red wine flooded the pristine white tablecloth, completely soaking the legally notarized conservatorship papers and splashing directly onto Dominic’s expensive black suit.

👉 Dominic grabbed Hannah’s arm with bone-crushing force, entirely unaware of the lethal predator sitting right beside him.
