Chapter 6 - The Kitchen Confrontation

Hannah burst through the heavy swinging doors of the restaurant kitchen, her chest heaving with frantic, terrified breaths.
She pulled the tiny black flash drive from her apron. She didn't have time to plug it into a computer, but she knew exactly what it was. For years, Dominic thought his son was completely oblivious to the criminal syndicate because he couldn't hear. He had openly discussed murders, offshore accounts, and massive wire fraud in front of Caleb.
But Caleb was brilliant. He had been flawlessly lip-reading his father's entire criminal network for a decade, quietly downloading the offshore ledgers directly onto this drive.
Suddenly, the kitchen doors violently smashed open.
Dominic stormed into the stainless steel kitchen, his ruined black suit clinging to his chest. His bodyguards locked the doors behind him. He had just reached into his jacket pocket and realized his master encrypted drive was missing.
"Where is it?" Dominic hissed viciously, cornering Hannah against the industrial stoves.
Hannah backed up, her hands trembling as she desperately tried to hide the drive behind her back. "I don't know what you're talking about!"
Dominic pulled a heavy, silver pistol from his waistband, aiming it directly at the waitress's chest.

"You have three seconds to give me my property," Dominic whispered, clicking the safety off.
👉 Dominic raised the weapon, absolutely blind to the fact that his son had followed him into the room.
