Chapter 9 - The Daughter's Legacy
"Brooke, please," Garrett begged, tears of pure, pathetic desperation spilling down his cheeks. He took a step toward her bed. "You can't do this. I'm the father of the girl! I have rights to her! You can't take both of my children!"
Brooke looked down at the beautiful baby girl in her arms, wrapping the striped hospital blanket tighter around her.
"You walked into this room five minutes ago and explicitly stated she would never carry your name," Brooke reminded him, her voice completely devoid of pity. "You brought your mistress and your secret child into my recovery room to humiliate me. You don't get to play the loving father now just because your bank account is empty."
Brooke gestured to the nurse. "I need him removed from my room. He is causing me distress."
The nurse immediately reached for the emergency call button on the wall.
"Brooke, I'm sorry! I'll leave her! Just let me stay in the company!" Garrett screamed, completely abandoning all dignity, falling to his knees in his gray three-piece suit while still holding Kendra’s toddler.

"Security is on the way," Richard stated, stepping protectively in front of his daughter's bed. "Get out of my hospital, Garrett. And take your trash with you."
