Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Push

"Take my hand, Chloe," Liam ordered, his tone shifting from arrogant to dangerously cold. "The priest is waiting. Do not embarrass me in front of my influential family."

Her mother stepped up right behind her, giving Chloe a hard, agonizing shove toward the wooden podium where the priest stood trembling.

"Do it," her mother hissed directly into Chloe's ear. "Don't you dare ruin our lives over your petty, childish jealousy. You will have a wealthy husband, a massive mansion, and an unlimited black credit card. Just sign the marriage certificate, smile for the cameras, and get over it."

Chloe looked down at the marriage certificate resting on the podium. It was just a piece of decorative paper. But signing it meant signing away her entire soul. It meant validating the destruction of her family, the deep betrayal of her sister, and the total surrender of her own dignity.

Chloe slowly lifted her head. She looked at Liam’s smug, expectant face. Then, she looked down at the beautiful, pristine white rose bouquet still tightly clutched in her hands.

A slow, chilling smile spread across Chloe’s face. It wasn't a smile of defeat. It was a smile of pure, calculated vengeance.

"You're right, Liam," Chloe said softly, her voice echoing perfectly in the quiet, tense chapel. "We really shouldn't embarrass you in front of your billionaire parents. They care so deeply about their flawless public image, don't they? Especially since your father is about to formally announce his run for State Senate."
