Chapter 8 - The Broadcast

The smug, arrogant smirk instantly vanished from Liam’s face. The blood violently drained from his cheeks as the horrifying, world-shattering reality of her words began to sink into his brain.

"Live... broadcasting?" Liam whispered, his voice trembling uncontrollably for the first time. "Where?"

"To the grand reception hall right next door," Chloe said brightly, gesturing gracefully to the massive, soundproof double oak doors at the back of the chapel. "The hall where your ultra-conservative billionaire parents, the entire board of directors of your company, your biggest investors, and five hundred of your most important political donors have been waiting for the last twenty minutes."

Her mother let out a blood-curdling shriek of absolute terror, dropping her expensive purse onto the floor. "No! Chloe, tell me you didn't do this!"

"I paid the sound engineer ten thousand dollars this morning," Chloe continued, her voice ringing with absolute, unstoppable triumph. "He tapped this microphone directly into the reception hall's massive surround-sound speaker system. They didn't just hear you admit to impregnating my sister, Liam. They heard you admit to financial extortion, bribery, and covering up my father's felony tax fraud. They heard every single word."

Liam stumbled backward in sheer panic, knocking over a massive glass vase of white flowers. It shattered violently across the marble floor, the sharp noise echoing loudly through the room.

"You insane bitch!" Liam roared, lunging forward toward the altar to rip the bouquet from her hands.
