Chapter 6 - The Arrogant Confession

"So what if I did?!" Ray shrieked hysterically, completely abandoning his sophisticated, wealthy persona. He looked like a terrified, cornered animal.
The mother, wearing her red blouse, stepped into the hallway just in time to hear the horrific confession. She covered her mouth in absolute shock.
"I built this family!" Ray roared aggressively, pointing a trembling finger at Carter. "Those pathetic warehouse workers didn't deserve that money! It's my father's company, which means it belongs to me and Dylan! We took what was rightfully ours! You can't prove anything!"
"You're pathetic," Carter whispered coldly.
"I'm rich!" Ray screamed back, his face turning violently red. "And I have the best lawyers in Charlotte! I will bury you in litigation for decades, Carter! I will make sure you and your little auditor girlfriend end up completely bankrupt and living on the streets!"
Dylan, standing right next to his father, suddenly stopped breathing.
The thirty-year-old golden child in the cream sweater slowly looked down at the smartphone in his hand. The screen was still facing away from the camera, but the glowing red button was unmistakable.
