Chapter 7 - The Live Broadcast

"Dad..." Dylan choked out, his voice dropping to a breathless, terrified whisper. His hands shook violently as he stared at the smartphone screen.

"What is it, Dylan?!" Ray snapped viciously, turning to his golden child. "Call the lawyers right now!"

"Dad, it's live," Dylan whimpered, holding the phone up with a trembling hand. "The feed... it was streaming to the investor group. They heard everything. They heard you admit to stealing the pension fund."

Ray completely froze. The warm, ambient lighting of the hallway suddenly felt incredibly freezing.

He stared at the glowing screen of his son's smartphone. The live viewer count was rapidly climbing into the hundreds. The comment section was a waterfall of absolute, apocalyptic panic from their corporate partners and board members.

Ray had just explicitly, aggressively confessed to stealing twelve million dollars from his employees and defrauding his investors, broadcast entirely in high-definition video by his own favorite son.

Carter adjusted his navy blazer, maintaining his quiet, devastating composure. He looked at his father, his eyes radiating the crushing, undeniable authority of an absolute apex predator.
