Chapter 7 - The Trustee Was the Person Bianca Feared in the Doorway

Her name was Catherine Bellaforte.

Alessandro’s seventy-one-year-old aunt.

His late father’s older sister.

She had served as independent trustee for twenty-two years.

Quiet.

Precise.

Almost impossible to intimidate.

Bianca disliked her immediately.

Catherine had asked too many questions about the management-company proposal.

Who benefits?

Why now?

Why does a spouse need control of trust assets before the marriage even occurs?

Why is Livia’s nursery being repurposed?

Bianca called her:

“An old woman who doesn’t understand modern estate management.”

Catherine understood it perfectly.

That was the problem.

The morning of the wedding, Catherine arrived at the estate unannounced.

Rosalie knew.

Alessandro did not.

Bianca did.

And when Alessandro said:

You are no longer the new owner

Bianca looked toward the doorway because she suspected only one person could have given him enough information to say that.

May you like

Catherine.
