Vanessa eventually stopped denying the core event.
Her explanation shifted.
She claimed she only meant to roll Robert a short distance to frighten him.
She said she expected the chair to stop before the staircase.
Investigators did not accept that as meaningful mitigation.
She had released a frail man’s wheelchair toward stairs.
Whether she hoped for fear, injury, or simply chaos—
the danger was obvious.

“I needed Daniel to see Grace as unsafe.”

“Because nothing was going to change while she was there.”
