Chapter 8 - Grace Had Already Copied the Documents Vanessa Wanted Gone

The morning after Robert asked for Martin Ellis, Grace became uneasy.

She went to Robert’s study and found an unfamiliar folder on his desk.

Inside:

The alternate power-of-attorney amendment.

A draft care-management proposal.

A memo recommending restricted access to Robert’s correspondence.

And a handwritten note:

Remove G. before transition.

Grace did not know who wrote it.

She photographed everything.

Then put the folder back exactly where she found it.

The next day—

the folder disappeared.

Grace told Robert.

Using the letter board, he spelled:

C-O-P-Y.

Grace answered:

“I did.”

Robert squeezed her hand.

That was the moment Vanessa truly lost control of the situation.

Even if Grace was fired—

the evidence already existed.

Vanessa just didn’t know where.
