The Arrogant Husband Locked His Beaten Wife in the Basement — Until He Showed Up at the ER and Met Her Military Mother

Rachel didn't even look at Patricia.

As the older woman swung the heavy silver candlestick, Rachel effortlessly caught her wrist mid-air. She twisted Patricia’s arm, forcing the woman to her knees on the expensive Persian rug.

"You wanted to drug my daughter," Rachel whispered directly into Patricia’s horrified face. "You wanted to watch her die in a basement. You are a monster, Patricia. And your reign of terror ends tonight."

Rachel shoved Patricia to the floor, where she lay weeping pathetically in her cream tweed jacket.

Rachel walked over to the open biometric safe. She grabbed the original banking ledgers, the burner phones, and the cartel contracts. She shoved everything into her tactical bag.

She pulled out her encrypted phone and pressed a single button.

Suddenly, the roaring sound of three heavy tactical helicopters shattered the quiet night sky outside the mansion. The bright, blinding spotlights of FBI choppers flooded through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the office.

Dozens of heavily armed FBI agents violently breached the front doors of the estate, swarming up the stairs.

"FBI! Nobody move!" the lead agent roared, storming into the office with his weapon drawn.

Nicholas sobbed on the floor, his arrogant billionaire ego completely, irreversibly destroyed. He realized his cartel protection was gone, his money was seized, and his life was entirely over.

"Nicholas Vance," the agent announced, pulling out heavy steel handcuffs. "You and your mother are under arrest for federal money laundering, racketeering, and conspiracy to commit murder. You are both looking at life in federal prison."

"No! Please!" Patricia wailed hysterically as an agent violently yanked her up by her tweed jacket, slapping the cuffs onto her wrists. "I'm a respectable woman! It was his idea!"
