Chapter 2 - The Perfect Timing

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing tension gripped the high school gymnasium. The cruel laughter from the bleachers slowly began to fade as the students noticed Sophie wasn't backing down.
Lieutenant Rourke let out a loud, theatrical sigh, rolling his eyes as he gripped the microphone.
"Listen to me, kid," Rourke scoffed, turning back to face the teenager. "I have read the deployment rosters for this entire base. I know every single elite operative stationed in Virginia Beach. There has never been a female Navy SEAL in the history of the United States. Your mother is lying to you, or you are lying to this entire school. Now sit down before I have your principal suspend you for disrupting my presentation."
Sophie didn't sit down.
A tight insert shot captured the large digital wall clock above the exit doors. The bright red numbers shifted perfectly to 10:10 AM.
At that exact, calculated second, the heavy double doors of the gymnasium swung open with a loud, metallic crash.
The remaining laughter in the room instantly died.
Stepping into the bright indoor lighting was a highly specialized, heavily disciplined military working-dog demonstration team. Four uniformed handlers marched into the gym at a perfectly synchronized, controlled walking pace. Each handler held the heavy tactical leash of a massive, heavily muscled military working dog calmly at heel.
They didn't look like standard recruiters. They radiated a cold, absolute, and terrifying authority that completely paralyzed the high school students.

Lieutenant Rourke frowned, his arrogant smirk violently faltering as he stared at the unannounced interruption.
👉 Rourke thought they were just a random K-9 unit, completely oblivious to the legendary commander walking right behind them.
