Chapter 5 - The Doctor's Panic

The blood violently drained from the private doctor’s face, leaving him looking like a terrified ghost.

"She's crazy!" the doctor shrieked, completely dropping his professional composure. He looked wildly at the armed capos around the table. "She's a senile maid! The boy has a viral infection! Let me treat him or he is going to die!"

Frank didn't move. He held his unresponsive son against his chest, staring dead into the doctor's eyes.

Antifreeze was sweet. It dissolved flawlessly into sweet liquids like milk. It caused symptoms that perfectly mimicked a severe stomach flu, completely shutting down the kidneys over a period of three days until the victim quietly slipped into a coma.

It was an assassin's weapon.

"Taste it," Frank commanded quietly, nodding toward the white cloth in Helen's hand.

The doctor stopped breathing. The air in his lungs violently turned to absolute ice. "What?"

"If it's just a viral infection, and the milk is clean, taste the spill," Frank ordered, his voice echoing flawlessly over the quiet room, dripping with imminent destruction.

The doctor took a step backward, completely refusing to touch the cloth. His hands began to tremble violently. He realized his entire, highly calculated assassination plot had just been completely annihilated by a fifty-year-old housekeeper.
