Chapter 7 - The Life Saver

Helen was still standing near the mahogany table, completely paralyzed by the sheer violence she had just witnessed. She was terrified she was going to be fired, or worse, for stepping out of line.

Frank completely bypassed the arrogance of his immense wealth and power.

He looked at the fifty-year-old housekeeper with profound, earth-shattering gratitude and deep, unshakeable respect.

"You come with us in the ambulance, Helen," Frank stated smoothly, his deep voice carrying a fiercely protective warmth. "He trusts you."

Helen gasped, covering her mouth with her hands as tears of pure relief fell from her eyes. She quickly followed the boss out to the waiting vehicles.

Because of Helen’s incredibly brave, rapid discovery, the emergency room doctors at the city hospital were able to immediately administer the specific antidote for antifreeze poisoning. Within forty-eight hours, Lucas’s kidneys stabilized, and the little boy completely recovered from the horrific ordeal.

In the months that followed, Frank violently purged the rival Barone family from the city, completely securing his empire and ensuring no one would ever touch his son again.

He didn't let Helen go back to cleaning floors.
