Chapter 10 - The True Family

The massive, elegant dining room was completely peaceful, completely devoid of armed men or toxic doctors.

Frank sat at the head of the mahogany table, wearing a relaxed grey sweater instead of a sharp charcoal suit. He smiled warmly, radiating absolute health, power, and undeniable peace as he sipped his morning coffee.

Sitting right next to him was Lucas, now a vibrant, healthy eight-year-old boy laughing loudly as he ate a massive stack of pancakes.

And sitting directly across from the boss, completely treated as an equal member of the family, was Helen.

She wasn't wearing a gray housekeeping dress or a white apron. She wore a sharp, elegant blouse, having been officially promoted to the highest-paid, fiercely protected Executive Estate Manager. She smiled brightly at Lucas, incredibly proud of the little boy she had saved.

Frank looked at the woman who had risked her own life to save his son, his heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true loyalty isn't found in men who wear expensive suits or carry guns—it is found in the brilliant, fearless courage of the people who genuinely love you.

Do you think dragging the doctor to the basement was enough justice, or did the cruel assassin deserve a harsher punishment for poisoning a child?
