Chapter 9 - The Stripping of Power

Richard realized he was completely, inescapably trapped. The arrogant billionaire facade shattered into a million pieces, leaving a pathetic, sniveling coward in its place.
"Mother, I didn't know!" Richard shrieked, his voice cracking with pure terror. "I swear to God, I had no idea it was you! If he had told me it was you, I would have given him the apartment for free!"
"That is exactly the problem," Eleanor growled, stepping into her son's personal space. "You only care about human life if it benefits you. You mock the weak. You crush the vulnerable. You are a disgusting, greedy parasite, and you are a disgrace to the Vance name."
"I was just enforcing the corporate policy!" Richard begged, dropping to his knees on the dirty sidewalk, completely humiliated in front of his guards and the tenants he despised. "I am the CEO! I have to be strict!"
"You are nothing," Eleanor corrected him smoothly.
She reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a stack of legal documents, throwing them violently into Richard’s face. The papers fluttered to the ground.
"I am the majority shareholder," Eleanor declared, her voice booming across the street. "As of this exact moment, you are officially fired from Vance Real Estate Holdings. You are entirely disinherited. I am freezing your bank accounts, seizing your penthouse, and taking back your car."
"No! Please, Mother!" Richard wept hysterically, clawing at the concrete. "I have nothing! You can't leave me on the street!"
"That sounds like a personal problem," Eleanor sneered, echoing his exact cruel words. She looked at her security team. "Strip him of his keys and his phone. Leave him here."
