Chapter 14 - the brave maid
After thoroughly cleaning up the mess in the corporation, Harrison decided to return to the luxurious family estate. The place that had once been a dark prison for him and little Chloe had now been reclaimed.
He summoned Anna, the young maid in the light blue uniform who had risked her life to bring food down to the basement for Chloe every night. The girl walked into the living room looking timid, her hands clasped tightly together in anxiety.
"Mr. Vance, you sent for me?" Anna spoke softly. She was still haunted by Julian's harsh rules and brutality, unsure of how the billionaire before her intended to treat her.
Harrison smiled gently, a rare and warm smile. He wheeled his chair closer to her. "You don't need to call me 'Mr.' You are the one who saved my daughter's life, the only angel in my life."
He took out a thick envelope and a file. "Here is a bonus enough for you and your family to live prosperously for the rest of your lives. In addition, I want you to take the position of head housekeeper of this estate. You deserve it."
