Chapter 63 - a father's wisdom

Chloe immediately drove to the sprawling, heavily secured suburban estate to consult the true, original architect of their family's formidable resilience. Harrison sat calmly in his cedar-paneled study, perfectly healthy and robust, listening closely as his daughter described the catastrophic digital threat.
He didn't show a single ounce of fear; he had survived a broken spine and a horrific family betrayal, emerging entirely unbroken and infinitely stronger. "You are trying to fight a machine with other machines, Chloe," Harrison said softly, his voice still carrying that undeniable, regal authority.
"But every machine, no matter how highly sophisticated, has a greedy, flawed human creator hiding behind the screen. Do not focus on the virus. Focus on the monster's fragile ego."
Chloe's eyes flashed with sudden, brilliant realization. "You're right, Dad," she said. "Elias didn't just steal the data; he left a highly theatrical ransom message. He is extremely arrogant and desperate for our attention."
