Chapter 3 - The Secret Box

"Lyla, sweetie," Alexander whispered, his powerful, tattooed hands trembling as he spoke to the tiny girl. He didn't sound like a mafia boss; he sounded like a desperate, broken man. "Where is Mommy's little box?"

"No! Please!" Elena sobbed violently, dropping to her knees on the marble floor. "Alexander, I swear to God, I didn't want to hide it from you! I had to! They threatened to kill my daughter!"

Alexander completely ignored the weeping maid. He stood up, his dark eyes flashing with a cold, demonic fury that made the wealthy, heavily armed guests in the background violently flinch.

"Search the staff quarters," Alexander commanded flawlessly to his elite bodyguards. "Tear her room down to the studs. Find the box."

Less than five minutes later, a massive enforcer returned to the living room, carrying a small, locked wooden cedar box. He handed it directly to the boss.

Alexander aggressively smashed the small brass lock with the butt of his pistol, dumping the contents directly onto a glass coffee table in front of the entire syndicate.

A dozen fake passports, massive stacks of banded hundred-dollar bills, and a burner phone spilled out. But resting directly on top of the cash was a perfect, identical copy of the silver heart-shaped locket.

Alexander stared at the silver necklace. He hadn't just hired a terrified single mother to clean his floors. He had hired a highly trained, deeply embedded corporate spy.

👉 Alexander picked up the burner phone, completely ready to execute the traitor who sent her.
