Chapter 6 - The Burner Phone

The burner phone rang exactly twice before a cold, heavily accented voice answered on the other end.

"Do you have the bank routing numbers, Elena?" the Romanov boss asked smoothly, expecting to hear the terrified maid.

"Elena isn't available right now," Alexander replied, his voice echoing with a freezing, lethal frequency that completely dominated the silent penthouse.

A heavy, terrifying pause hung on the line. The rival boss instantly recognized Alexander’s voice.

"Alexander," the Romanov boss chuckled nervously, desperately trying to maintain his arrogant authority. "I see you found our little spy. It's a shame. We were really hoping to empty your accounts before we sent your sister's head back in a box."

"You aren't touching my sister," Alexander stated clinically, entirely devoid of fear. "And you aren't getting a single dime of my money."

"You don't have a choice," the Romanov boss sneered aggressively. "I have fifty heavily armed men guarding the upstate compound. If you even think about sending a strike team, we will execute Sofia before you breach the front gates. You surrender your empire tonight, or she dies."
