Chapter 9 - The Reclaimed Sister

Two hours later, the grand luxury penthouse was profoundly, beautifully quiet.

The heavy mahogany doors of the private elevator slid open. Sofia, a beautiful twenty-something woman, stepped out into the living room. She looked exhausted, wearing a simple gray coat, but she was entirely safe.

Alexander completely abandoned his terrifying, ruthless mafia persona. He sprinted across the polished marble floor and aggressively pulled his younger sister into a desperate, fiercely protective embrace. He buried his face in her shoulder, weeping tears of pure, unadulterated relief as he finally held the only family he had left.

"I'm sorry it took me so long," Alexander choked out, his massive, tattooed hands trembling.

"You found me," Sofia whispered softly, crying into his chest. "That's all that matters."

The Romanov syndicate was completely, permanently eradicated from the criminal underworld. Without their corrupt leadership, Alexander seized absolute control of the entire eastern seaboard, becoming the single most powerful, untouchable titan in the country. He didn't just win the war; he bought the enemy's army and used it to execute them.

The heavy steel door of the basement vault clicked open.
