Chapter 10 - The True Protection

In the months that followed, Vincent completely purged his entire syndicate, violently removing any capo or soldier who had ever been loyal to Carmine. He cleared Elena’s name completely, establishing a massive, multi-million-dollar charity foundation in her honor.

He didn't fire Sophia.

He moved her and little Mia out of the cramped staff quarters and into the absolute best, most luxurious guest suite in the grand mansion. He doubled her salary, paid for Mia's private education, and ensured they were entirely, permanently protected by his most elite security team.

A year later, the grand foyer was brightly lit with warm, beautiful sunlight.

Sophia wasn't wearing a black and white maid uniform. She wore a sharp, elegant blouse, working as Vincent’s highly trusted personal estate manager.

Little Mia, now four years old, was running happily across the polished marble floors, wearing a beautiful yellow dress. She wasn't holding a duster. She was holding a brand new teddy bear.

Vincent stepped out of his office, wearing a relaxed suit. He smiled warmly as Mia ran up to him and hugged his leg. He reached down and gently ruffled her hair, his heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true loyalty isn't found in the men who wear expensive suits—it is found in the innocent courage of a mother fighting to protect her child.

Do you think executing Carmine was enough justice, or did the cruel underboss deserve a slower punishment for framing the innocent fiancée?
