Chapter 3 - The Rare Smile

The cinematic tension was absolutely suffocating.

And then, the impossible happened.

A tight close-up captured Vincent’s face. The terrifying, arrogant scowl violently broke. The cold, disciplined exterior melted away entirely, replaced by a rare, incredibly genuine, and warm smile that reached his dark eyes.

Vincent let out a low, rich chuckle, completely disarmed by the toddler's fearless innocence.

"She has excellent aim," Vincent remarked, sounding deeply amused as he uncrossed his arms.

Sophia let out a massive, heavy sigh, the suffocating tension instantly leaving her shoulders. She stepped forward, gently reaching down to gather her daughter into her arms before she could push her luck any further.

"I can take her home, Mr. Castellano," Sophia whispered, her voice dripping with profound relief. "It will never happen again."

Vincent stood back up, adjusting the cuffs of his expensive suit. His entire demeanor had softened completely. He didn't look like a ruthless monster anymore; he looked like a man who hadn't smiled in a very long time.

"She can stay," Vincent commanded quietly, his voice carrying gentle but absolute authority. "The chef can make her some pasta in the kitchen."

Sophia’s eyes welled with tears of gratitude.
