Chapter 8 - The Damning Accusation

"He's wearing her watch!" Sophia screamed, pointing a shaking finger directly at Carmine’s wrist.
The entire room went breathlessly, dead silent.
Vincent completely froze. The air in his lungs violently turned to absolute ice.
"What did you just say?" Vincent whispered, his voice dropping into a demonic, terrifying register.
Carmine panicked. The slick, arrogant underboss violently pulled his cuff down over his wrist. "She's lying! She's a crazy, desperate maid! I'm going to kill her!"
But before Carmine could even raise the weapon, Vincent moved with explosive, blinding, cinematic speed.
The mafia boss vaulted entirely over his heavy mahogany desk. He violently tackled Carmine to the floor, disarming the heavy handgun in a fraction of a second. Vincent grabbed Carmine by the throat and slammed him against the bookshelves.
"Show me your wrist," Vincent roared, a sound of pure, unadulterated, feral wrath.
Carmine thrashed wildly, but Vincent brutally ripped the sleeve of the expensive suit entirely off.
The custom-engraved platinum watch was sitting right there on Carmine’s wrist.
