Chapter 2 - The Crooked Eyebrow

The cinematic realism of the terrifying, suffocating tension completely electrified the quiet bakery.
Theo stood completely paralyzed in his expensive gray overcoat. He stared at the back of Naomi's teal coat. He knew that hair. He knew that voice. It had been exactly five and a half years since he last saw her, but the memory was permanently burned into his mind.
Suddenly, Eli turned around in his yellow jacket to look at the display case.
A tight close-up focused entirely on the five-year-old boy's face. He had bright, intelligent eyes, a strong little jaw, and one highly distinct, sharp, crooked left eyebrow.
It was the exact same highly distinct, genetically rare crooked eyebrow that Theo had on his own face.
A close-up captured Theo. All the color violently drained from his handsome, powdered face, leaving him looking like a terrified ghost. His jaw literally unhinged as he stared at the two identical five-year-old boys standing directly in front of him.
He hadn't just run into his ex-fiancée. He had just run into the massive, breathing, living proof of a horrific, unforgivable betrayal.
"Can we talk?" Theo choked out, his deep voice cracking with pure, unadulterated shock.

👉 Naomi aggressively grabbed her sons by the hands, entirely ready to drag them away from the toxic billionaire.
