Chapter 8 - The True Apology

Theo screamed and cried in total, undeniable disgrace, completely humiliated in front of the quiet bakery customers. His entire life was permanently erased.
Victoria completely ignored him. She took a slow, deliberate step toward Naomi.
The wealthy heiress didn't look arrogant anymore. She looked at the mother in the teal coat and the two innocent five-year-old boys with profound, overwhelming respect and deep, genuine sorrow.
"I am so incredibly sorry," Victoria whispered softly, completely dropping her high-society pride. "I had absolutely no idea he was doing this to you. You did not deserve to struggle like this."
Naomi held her ground, fiercely protecting her twins, but she gave a small, respectful nod. She knew Victoria was just another one of Theo's victims.
"You don't have to count coins for pastries anymore, Naomi," Victoria stated clinically, her voice radiating absolute, undeniable authority. "My family’s corporate attorneys will be contacting you this afternoon. We are going to aggressively sue Theo for every single dime of back child support, and we will personally ensure that Leo gets the absolute best cochlear implant surgeons in the country, fully paid for by the Sterling Foundation."
Naomi physically stopped breathing. The crushing, suffocating weight she had carried for five agonizing years completely lifted from her chest. Tears of pure, unadulterated relief flooded her brown eyes.
