Chapter 9 - The Federal Consequence
Heavy, wailing police sirens aggressively shattered the peaceful Sunday morning.
Through the massive glass windows of the bakery, intense red and blue emergency lights violently illuminated the wooden counter. Victoria's father hadn't just fired Theo; he had immediately dispatched the authorities to arrest him for the massive financial fraud he had committed to hide his stolen money.
Two heavily armed police officers marched directly into the bakery. They completely bypassed Victoria and Naomi, walking straight up to the weeping, disgraced corporate titan on the floor.
"Theo Vance," the lead officer barked loudly, aggressively grabbing him by the arms and forcefully hauling him to his feet. "You are under arrest for massive wire fraud and grand larceny."
Theo screamed and cried hysterically as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around his wrists, completely stripping him of his fake wealth, his arrogant pride, and his freedom.
He was forcefully dragged backward out of the bright bakery, entirely humiliated in front of the exact family he had cruelly abandoned.
Victoria didn't watch him leave. She gave Naomi one last, respectful smile before walking out the front door, entirely ready to completely dismantle her ex-husband's remaining assets in divorce court.
