Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Mother

Adrian knelt on the floor, weeping openly, his terrifying facade completely shattered. He slowly reached a trembling hand out, desperately wanting to touch the life growing inside her, wanting to connect with the child he had almost abandoned forever.
His wife calmly took half a step back, entirely out of his reach.
She opened the leather folder completely. She reached inside the left pocket and gently pulled out the glossy ultrasound photograph.
She didn't hand it to him. She simply held it up so he could see the perfect, tiny profile of the baby girl resting safely inside her.
“Her name is going to be Aurora,” his wife whispered softly, her voice radiating absolute, fierce maternal protection. “And she is never going to know what it feels like to be abandoned by a man who prioritizes his pride over his family.”
“Please,” Adrian sobbed, staring at the ultrasound photo as if it were the holy grail. “She is my daughter. I will give her the entire world.”
“I already bought her the world, Adrian,” his wife replied, her tone perfectly calm, devoid of anger or hatred. She was simply stating an absolute fact. “I don't need your money. I don't need your syndicate. And I don't need you.”
She carefully slid the ultrasound back into the leather folder and clutched it safely against her chest.
Without shedding a single tear, she turned her back on the weeping billionaire. She walked out of the master bedroom with breathtaking, unbreakable grace, her pale-blue dress swishing softly as she exited the mansion forever. She had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.

She walked into the bright sunlight, completely secure in her power, her wealth, and her beautiful daughter's future.
If you were the wife, would you have allowed Adrian to be a part of the baby's life, or was walking away and leaving him completely broken the absolute perfect revenge?
