Chapter 12 - the digital hostage

Liliana didn't panic, and she certainly didn't scream for her heavily armed security detail. Inheriting the terrifyingly cold, cinematic composure that had saved her life ten years ago, she immediately sprinted down the marble corridor and sealed the executive server room from the inside.

Her trusted head of cyber-security, a brilliant operative named Elias, stood firmly by her side. His rugged face was a mask of absolute, unyielding stone as his fingers flew across the mechanical keyboard. The massive digital monitors on the wall violently flickered, bypassing all external firewalls, and displayed a single, chilling line of green text.

"Transfer fifty million dollars in untraceable cryptocurrency within sixty minutes, or we will leak the complete structural blueprints of every federal building your company secures."

Liliana's blood ran completely cold. This wasn't a simple, amateur extortion attempt; it was a massive threat to national security. If those classified blueprints leaked, it would permanently destroy her company's pristine reputation and likely land her in a federal prison for gross negligence.
